The show included leading international suppliers presenting the latest plant, equipment and materials to the industry. Set in the rugged environment of Hillhead Quarry in the Pennine Hills, the showground covered an area of some 140,000 m2 and included outdoor displays, covered pavilions and extensive working demonstration areas. Over 459 exhibitors saw machinery in a live working environment, the largest of which weighs around 320 tonnes. Alongside this were a number of exhibition areas in outdoor or in temporary structures.

Melville GES provided a range of services including carpet, furniture, shell scheme, logistics, graphics and data services that included 1,200 sqm of shell, 3 trailers of furniture and over 5,000 sqm of carpet.

Melville GES’s group account director, Mike Chambers commented, “This was an exceptional show in a very rugged environment that presented a unique set of challenges. It could be quite unpleasant when the weather was against us but the team always did us proud. The sun was shining on opening morning and the show looked fantastic.”

The show attracted over 17,000 visitors who arrived on site by all manner of vehicles including helicopters, all of whom descended into the show inside the quarry.
