Service Desk & IT Support Show shortlisted for Best UK Trade Show Award
The Service Desk & IT Support Show – has been nominated for a prestigious Best UK Trade Show Award by the Association of Event Organisers in its annual Excellence Awards.
The exhibition industry’s equivalent to the Oscars, this is the first time that SITS, which celebrated its 18th edition in April, has been shortlisted within the hotly-contested Best Trade Exhibition (under 2,000m2) category. In addition to SITS, other trade events in the running for 2012 include food to go show lunch! (winner for the last two consecutive years), which is also organised by Diversified Business Communications UK.
“This is the first year that SITS has entered the AEO awards and we are absolutely thrilled to have been nominated,” comments The Service Desk & IT Support Show’s delighted event manager Laura Venables. “It’s a testament to the support of our loyal exhibitors, dedicated visitors and devoted team that the show just keeps going from strength to strength. We are truly, very proud of this wonderful recognition.”
Firmly established as the UK’s leading event for IT service and support professionals, SITS, which took place earlier this year on 24-25 April, reported a 12% visitor increase to 4,422 (up from 4120 in 2011). Whilst the Service Desk & IT Support Show has enjoyed continued industry prominence and support throughout its 18-year history, much like the sector it serves the event has seen many changes. And it is this ability to constantly adapt to the needs of industry, to ensure that it remains a vital business forum for sharing ideas and innovations within the ITSM community that has kept it right at the top of its game, says organiser Diversified UK. Impressive attendance figures aside, 87% of surveyed visitors also rated the 2012 event as good or excellent, and Service Desk & IT Support Show’s award submission to the AEO was backed by glowing testimonials from satisfied exhibitors and enthusiastic visitors, much like Gregory Baylis-Hall, technical support coordinator at Berwin Leighton Paisner LLP:
“SDITS12 was an extraordinary couple of days, with a fine blend of big name vendors, respected educational bodies and leading ITSM commentators. The atmosphere was upbeat and buzzy and well organised – everyone I met felt SDITS12 was the best to date. I came away from various thought provoking sessions feeling empowered,” says Baylis-Hall.
The AEO Excellence Awards recognises achievements by organisers, venues, suppliers and contractors throughout the exhibitions industry. This year’s winners are to be announced at a dedicated awards ceremony at the Artillery Gardens at the HAC, London, on Friday 6 July 2012.
